Hi Rachelle,
I'm very sorry to hear about your little one. But keep faith.....if there's one thing that I've learned, it's that everything works out for a reason.

Our Trips were born at 32 weeks and 3 days, but there is a possibility that they were closer to 33 weeks and 3 days, depending on what calculation was used. At 32-33 weeks, our babies' lungs were pretty good. They didn't need any oxygen or ventilators, and were only on CPAP for about 12 hours each. If I recall, anything prior to 34 weeks, they generally like to get the babies on steroids to help speed lung maturity. After 34 weeks, I don't believe they consider the steroids unless circumstances warrant it. From what I gathered while up in the NICU, it seems that each and every case is very different. Some babies born at 37 weeks seem to have a tougher time than others that are born at 33 weeks. Ultimately, it seems that there is quite a bit of variance. The odds of lung issues in babies under 32 weeks is definitely higher than those born at 36, but that doesn't mean that a 32-weeker will definitely have issues.

My advice is to treat each and every day as a milestone and not focus too far ahead on the bigger ones. Every single day is a step in the right direction and is a small victory for your little ones.

We've been keeping you and your family in our prayers and we're wishing for the best. Stay strong, have faith, and never lose hope.

Congrats you guys...your triplets are absolutely adorable! They seem like they are growing like weeds! I have one question though. Seeing how Jill made it over 32 weeks, how developed were the babies lungs? I was wondering because my husband and I found out a month ago that one of our triplets has a rare congenital heart defect known as hypoplestic left heart syndrome. She will need either corrective heart surgery or a heart transplant within the first week after birth and the doctors told me that if her lungs aren't developed enough they won't do the surgery. If they don't do the surgery, she will most likely pass away after about 10 days. The doctors told me that I need to make it to either 36-38 weeks...and honestly I don't see that happening.
